Today’s article is important news about paying HMRC.
As you may know – from word of mouth, or our earlier article here – the way customers interact with HMRC is changing, through their Making Tax Digital (MTD) initiative. This has already begun with the withdrawal of paying over the phone.
From 15th December 2017 you will be unable to pay HMRC at the Post Office. From 13th January 2018, HMRC will no longer accept payment by by personal credit card. Debit Cards and Corporate Credit Cards will continue to be accepted.
There are, of course, still many alternative ways to pay which are safer and more efficient, such as:
- Direct Debit.
- Online or telephone banking.
- Debit/Corporate Credit cards by online or telephone banking services.
